Tooling Engineer

Job description

Responsible for executing all tool room maintenance activities in Saudi Arabia. Reports to the Production Manager, supervises production staff, trains them and ensures effective communication. Maintains records of production output, shift performance, incidents and reports to management. Tasks include designing and developing tools using CAD/CAM, preventive and corrective maintenance, scheduling regular inspections, cleaning tools, lubricating moving parts, proper storage, tracking tool life cycles, analyzing performance, replacing components before critical wear, documenting repairs, calibrating tools, maintaining maintenance and change logs, monitoring inventory, proposing design and material improvements, collaborating with production, quality and design teams, applying 5S and TPM practices, and ensuring compliance with safety policies and quality management systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Tooling and Molding Engineering or related field
• minimum experience in a manufacturing or tool room environment
• proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MasterCAM
• knowledge of manufacturing processes (CNC, EDM, milling, etc.)
• strong understanding of tool materials, heat treatment and tolerances
• familiarity with lean manufacturing and 5S practices
• strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• good communication and teamwork
• attention to detail and quality mindset
• time management and multitasking abilities
• willingness to work shifts, weekends or overtime as needed
• knowledge of lean techniques is a plus
• team player with strong organizational skills
