Senior Interior Designer

Job description

Responsible for designing and developing interior concepts with a full design package including working drawings to create functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing spaces. Assesses space requirements, determines optimal furniture placement, and selects decorative items while adhering to blueprints, building codes, and inspection requirements. Produces sketches, drawings, and floor plans using CAD and hand‑drawing skills. Creates idea boards to convey concepts to clients and selects design strategies and color palettes. Enhances functionality by modifying architectural elements and arranging furnishings, artwork, and decor. Prepares project budgets, sets timelines, and coordinates with vendors and contractors. Negotiates material pricing, maintains vendor relationships, and expands client base through networking. Stays updated on interior design and architecture trends and complies with national and local building and safety codes. Interprets blueprints and collaborates with architects, artists, contractors, painters, upholsterers, and building inspectors
