Senior Bridge Engineer

Job description

The Senior Bridge Engineer will oversee design review, construction supervision, inspection, and technical compliance of bridge and structural works for major road and highway projects in Riyadh. The role ensures execution according to approved designs, project specifications, local and international standards, and schedules while maintaining top safety and quality standards. Design Review & Technical Oversight: Review and comment on bridge designs, shop drawings, and construction documents, ensuring compliance with AASHTO, BS, Eurocodes, and Saudi standards. Construction Supervision: Supervise bridge, flyover, interchange, underpass, retaining wall, and related structure activities, monitoring methods and sequencing for safety and integrity. Inspection & Quality Assurance: Conduct regular site inspections, witness material and load tests, and review ITPs and quality records to enforce QA/QC procedures. Project Coordination: Liaise with Resident Engineers, Highway Engineers, contractors, utility teams, and client representatives, participating in technical meetings. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance: Enforce HSE requirements and ensure safety regulations are followed. Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Track progress against schedules, prepare weekly and monthly technical reports, and highlight risks and delays. Contract Administration Support: Review technical aspects of variations, claims, and RFIs, assisting commercial teams with evaluations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Structural or Bridge Engineering
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent certification advantageous
• minimum 15 years experience in bridge and structural engineering
• at least 8 years experience on major Roads & Highways infrastructure projects
• prior experience in construction supervision consultancy
• proven experience with bridges, flyovers, grade‑separated interchanges, viaducts, underpasses, and retaining structures
• GCC and Saudi Arabia project experience highly preferred
• strong knowledge of bridge engineering principles and structural analysis
• experience with reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, and steel bridge structures
• familiarity with AASHTO LRFD, Eurocodes, BS Standards, and Saudi regulations
• proficient in structural analysis software such as MIDAS Civil, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, CSI Bridge or similar
• knowledge of bridge inspection, maintenance, and rehabilitation techniques
• understanding of FIDIC contractual procedures
