IT Supervisor

Job description

Job title: IT Supervisor. Department: Information Technology. Direct Responsible: Director of Information Technology. The most prominent tasks and responsibilities are to provide the information system and ensure it is not interrupted for all departments and sections of the hotel. Direct supervision and guidance of information systems staff. Emphasizing effective preventative maintenance of all system resources, and coordinating immediate repair of all systems and equipment. Supervising and reporting daily any problems that occur to the IT Assistant. Completely perform necessary software updates, coordinate upgrades and maintain hotel infrastructure. Participate in the emergency plan and ensure its effectiveness. Ensuring security procedures and periodic review of users’ access rights and passwords to the system network. Identify and implement solutions to challenges facing users associated with the use of computer equipment, and provide advisory advice to them on site. Maintain constant training on the systems used and ensure their effectiveness, and help enhance efficiency between departments to achieve optimal use of system resources

Requirements

• Required qualifications and experience
• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or similar certifications and experience.
• At least two years of practical experience in the hotel sector.
• Excellent technical understanding of IT management in a service organisation, with very good knowledge of the hospitality industry.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Leadership and people control skills.
• High problem solving and time management skills.
• Strong analytical skills and a self-motivated personality.
• Ability to work well with people who possess varying technical abilities.
