MEP Engineer (Mechanical Design)

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical MEP Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Responsibilities include designing, analyzing, and documenting mechanical systems for commercial and residential projects. Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to deliver efficient, compliant mechanical solutions that meet project requirements and standards. Design and develop HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Prepare comprehensive technical drawings, specifications, and calculations using industry-standard software. Perform load calculations, duct sizing, and system analysis to ensure optimal performance. Review and approve equipment submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation from contractors and suppliers. Ensure designs comply with building codes and regulations in Saudi Arabia and the GCC. Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and site inspections to monitor progress and address design issues. Analyze and resolve design conflicts to maintain schedules. Maintain organized project documentation and accurate records of design decisions. Support senior engineers and project managers to deliver projects on time and within specifications.

Requirements

• 10 years of professional experience in MEP mechanical design or related engineering discipline
• advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for mechanical design and documentation
• strong knowledge of HVAC system design, including load calculations and equipment selection
• solid understanding of plumbing and fire protection system design principles
• proficiency in performing mechanical load calculations and system analysis
• excellent technical documentation and drawing preparation skills
• familiarity with building codes and standards applicable to Saudi Arabia and the GCC region
• strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail
• excellent organizational and project coordination skills
• ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
• preferred: experience with BIM coordination and modeling
• preferred: knowledge of energy modeling and sustainable design practices
• preferred: project management experience or certification
• preferred: experience with advanced Revit features and MEP-specific plugins.
