Senior Teradata Database Administrator

About the Role: The Senior Teradata Database Administrator joins the employer's team in Riyadh to manage comprehensive administration, performance, availability, security, and maintenance of enterprise Teradata database environments. Key Responsibilities: Administer and support Teradata environments across Production, UAT, Development, and DR; perform database administration, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting, including user, role, profile, privilege, and space management; monitor system and query performance using Teradata Viewpoint, DBQL, and PDCR, providing SQL and performance tuning recommendations; install, configure, and manage PDCR and Viewpoint with alerts; monitor and manage TASM and workload management; execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities including BAR Data Stream Controller; carry out data migration between environments coordinating with technical teams; plan and execute DBMS upgrades, patches, and service packs with pre‑ and post‑upgrade checks; monitor space utilization and produce growth reports; manage user security administration per requirements; provide production support, troubleshooting database, performance, workload, and operational issues; conduct regular health checks and prepare performance reports; follow change management and production support procedures with implementation and rollback plans

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
• 8+ years of database administration experience with significant hands‑on Teradata DBA experience
• experience supporting enterprise‑scale Teradata production environments
• experience with Teradata performance tuning, DBQL, PDCR, Viewpoint, TASM, backup/recovery, migration, and upgrades
• experience working with Teradata vendor/support teams
• experience in mission‑critical enterprise environments preferred
