Senior Engineer, Backend - Orchestration

Job description

Join a globally distributed engineering team building infrastructure for efficient payment management across international markets. Design and implement core backend services for high-performance distributed systems. Own key technical decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and long‑term growth. Write clean, well‑tested code and apply modern practices such as TDD and BDD. Contribute to frameworks and tools that simplify customer and third‑party integration. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver solutions aligned with user and business needs. Conduct code reviews, share technical knowledge, and create detailed documentation. Support improvement of payment workflows and developer experience.

Requirements

• Strong fundamentals in backend engineering
• comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle
• experience designing and implementing backend services for distributed systems
• knowledge of building developer frameworks and integration tools
• proficiency in a backend programming language, with Python advantageous
• familiarity with modern development methodologies like TDD and BDD
• understanding of scalable system design, code quality, testing strategies, and maintainable architecture
• knowledge of the payments industry and interest in optimizing merchant and developer experiences
• strong written and verbal communication skills
• self‑motivated and proactive with ability to own tasks and deliver results
• collaborative mindset for code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement
• ability to work remotely within a globally distributed team
• location eligibility for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
