Regional Financial Controller

Job description

The Regional Financial Controller at the employer MENA in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia leads financial control, reporting and day‑to‑day finance operations across the region. Ensures accurate financial information, disciplined month‑end close, and provides reliable forecasts and cash flow analysis in a fast‑moving, project‑based sports and entertainment environment. Key responsibilities: Own monthly, quarterly and year‑end close for MENA entities; prepare and review management accounts, balance‑sheet reconciliations and cash‑flow reports with clear commentary; maintain integrity of the general ledger, chart of accounts and intercompany balances; apply Group accounting policies and IFRS consistently; lead regional statutory audits and coordinate external reporting; collaborate with Finance Business Partner to resolve accounting issues and assess contract implications; maintain short‑ and medium‑term cash‑flow forecasts and support funding decisions; review receivables, collections and payables to reduce unbilled revenue and overdue balances; oversee payments, bank reconciliations and treasury controls; ensure compliance with accounting, tax and regulatory requirements; improve controls over purchasing, supplier onboarding, expenses and payroll; drive NetSuite usage and automate finance processes; lead, coach and develop a team of three; build collaborative relationships with regional leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant with a minimum of ten years' relevant finance experience
• significant financial controllership experience in a multi‑entity and multi‑currency environment in the Middle East, especially UAE and Saudi Arabia
• strong knowledge of IFRS, statutory and management reporting, audit, tax compliance, treasury and working capital management
• experience in a project‑based services business, preferably in sports, entertainment, events, sponsorship, marketing, media or agency
• practical experience using automation or AI tools to improve finance processes and analysis
• Arabic language skills advantageous but not essential
