Engineer - Structural

Job description

Responsibilities: Supervise structural construction activities including foundations, retaining structures, concrete works, steel structures, and building frameworks; verify that construction follows approved methodologies and quality requirements; monitor site work to ensure workmanship meets specifications and standards; attend inspections and testing of structural materials and completed works; identify and resolve structural issues promptly. Review shop drawings, material submittals, and contractor technical proposals for design compliance; coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, quantity surveyors, and construction teams to resolve design‑construction interfaces; evaluate RFIs, technical queries, and proposed design changes. Ensure compliance with project quality plans and technical specifications; verify material quality through test reports and inspection records; identify non‑conformities and implement corrective actions. Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress, workmanship quality, and design compliance; monitor contractor adherence to approved work sequences. Liaise with client representatives, contractors, consultants, and project management on structural matters; participate in progress and coordination meetings. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on structural progress and compliance; maintain inspection, testing, and technical review records; document non‑conformance reports and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering or related field
• Master's Degree in Structural Engineering preferred
• Professional Engineering registration or equivalent accreditation desirable
• Membership in a recognized engineering institution preferred
• Additional certifications in structural design, construction supervision, or project management advantageous
• 8-12 years of professional experience in structural engineering and construction supervision
• Minimum 5 years of site supervision consultancy experience on major building developments
• Proven experience in large-scale buildings, convention centers, hotels, resorts, and mixed-use projects
• Strong experience in reinforced concrete, structural steel, foundations, and building structural systems
• Prior GCC experience, especially in Saudi Arabia, highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, construction methodologies, and building systems
• Thorough understanding of international design codes, construction standards, and quality requirements
• Experience reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, calculations, and technical documents
• Knowledge of structural inspection procedures, testing requirements, and quality control practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and structural engineering software
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• High attention to detail and commitment to engineering excellence
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
