Valve Technician II

Job description

The Valve Technician II maintains rotating equipment in good condition. Performs installation, maintenance and repair of rotating equipment and mechanical systems to required standards. Allocates maintenance activities to technicians and assembles the team. Supervises ongoing jobs and updates the foreman. Organizes manpower, equipment and material availability. Arranges necessary work permits before starting work. Provides technical advice to technicians on proper tools and equipment. Coordinates with Operations, Maintenance Planning and Technical departments to execute and complete jobs. Ensures SAP data input, history and actual hours are maintained. Attends daily and weekly maintenance progress meetings. Complies strictly with SATORP standards and guidelines. Ensures safe work practices, hazardous work regulations and PPE usage according to SATORP standards. Encourages reporting of near misses, unsafe conditions and acts. Participates in safety audits. Attends scheduled safety and technical training.

Requirements

• 2-4 years experience in Oil & Gas maintenance
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree
• strong technical understanding of maintenance management of Oil & Gas facilities
• well organized and proactive with excellent communication skills
• proven leadership skills in large organizations
• maturity of judgment under pressure and ability to resolve problems
• strategic management skills
• ability to achieve business results in a multicultural environment
