Design Manager

Job description

The Design Manager leads the design team and manages the design process from development through site execution. He ensures the approved design is properly implemented and coordinates with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include leading the design team and on-site execution, managing deliverables and approvals across multiple projects, reviewing drawings, specifications, and materials, overseeing FF&E projects from design development through procurement and handover, attending sites regularly to monitor implementation, ensuring compliance with drawings and quality standards, following up on contractor issues, reviewing shop drawings and submissions, coordinating architectural, interior, MEP and specialist requirements, monitoring progress, identifying risks and delays, attending coordination meetings and providing updates, and supporting inspections, snagging, close‑out and final handover.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design or a related field
• 15–20 years of relevant experience, including solid experience in a Design Manager role and site supervision
• strong experience in design management, interior fit‑out and FF&E projects
• proven experience supervising design teams and following design execution on site
• good knowledge of construction methods, materials and multidisciplinary coordination
• previous experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC is preferred
• strong communication, coordination and stakeholder‑management skills, presentable
• proficiency in relevant design and project‑management software.
