Production Manager

Job description

The Production Manager for the event fabrication workshop oversees the entire production cycle of event structures, exhibition stands, sets, and custom props, from initial design interpretation to final installation. This role bridges design, client servicing, and on‑ground fabrication to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high‑quality standards. Develops and manages production schedules based on factory capacity to ensure on‑time delivery. Reviews technical drawings and liaises with the design team to confirm production feasibility. Supervises, trains, and mentors workshop staff including carpenters, metal fabricators, printers, and painters. Determines necessary material resources, manages inventory levels, and optimizes usage to reduce waste. Monitors project budgets, prepares cost estimates, and implements cost‑saving strategies. Establishes and enforces quality standards, inspecting final outputs before dispatch or installation. Enforces strict health, safety, and environmental protocols, maintains a clean, organized work environment, and ensures compliance with legislation. Pre‑plans and oversees on‑site installation and dismantlement of projects. Submits weekly reports to management on project status, milestones, and achievements.

Requirements

• 10+ years as a production manager in the event industry, with experience in carpentry, metalwork, printing, foam work, and painting shops
• deep understanding of fabrication techniques (wood, metal, printing, foam, and painting) and material sourcing
• experience with MS Office and, ideally, CAD software or ERP systems
• strong team management abilities to foster a productive and safe work culture
• ability to resolve production bottlenecks and adapt to changing timelines
• bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Production Management, or related field is often preferred, but extensive practical experience is highly valued
• proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
