QAQC Mechanical Engineer

The role involves conducting comprehensive inspections of mechanical fit‑out installations, executing QA/QC testing protocols such as pressure testing, flushing and TAB record verification, verifying installation of supports and hangers per drawings, assessing work quality and identifying non‑conformances, preparing detailed inspection reports and compliance documents, coordinating with contractors to ensure specification compliance, and providing technical guidance on quality standards and testing procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an ABET‑accredited program
• minimum 10 years of professional mechanical engineering experience
• at least 5 years focused on quality assurance, quality control and commissioning of mechanical systems in fit‑out or interior finishing projects
• proficiency in inspecting and testing HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems and mechanical equipment installations
• proficiency in pressure testing, system flushing and TAB (Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing) procedures
• strong knowledge of mechanical design standards, construction specifications and industry best practices
• ability to prepare detailed inspection reports, compliance documentation and technical assessments
• excellent communication and coordination skills with contractors and project teams
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
• certification in commissioning (CCP) or equivalent preferred
• experience with BIM and mechanical design software preferred
• track record of managing large‑scale fit‑out projects in commercial or institutional settings preferred
• experience mentoring junior engineers and technicians preferred
