Senior Safety Officer

Job description

The Senior Safety Officer works at the employer in the Eastern Region. Responsible for monitoring workplace conditions, identifying potential hazards, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Daily duties include conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits; supporting incident and accident investigations; maintaining accurate documentation and records; organizing and delivering safety training sessions; promoting a strong safety culture; coordinating with operations, production, and management to implement corrective actions; and liaising with security teams and external regulatory bodies

• proficient in Health & Safety skills
• proficient in Accident Investigation skills
• proficient in Safety Training skills
• proficient in Security-related skills
• NEBOSH or IOSH certification or equivalent
• 2 years experience in senior position
• experience in chemical, industrial or manufacturing environments
• knowledge of local and international safety standards
• strong communication skills
• strong observation and documentation skills
• diploma or bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field
