Heat Exchanger and Pressure Vessel Fabrication Technician

Job description

The role involves performing fabrication, welding, and maintenance tasks for a workshop specializing in shell and tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, tanks, and piping. Tasks include reading and interpreting fabrication drawings, isometrics, and GA layouts. Tasks include performing precise layout, marking, cutting, beveling, and fit-up of components according to design and ASME/API standards. Tasks include leading teams and coordinating with welders, QC inspectors, and engineers to ensure alignment, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with ITPs and WPS. Tasks include executing welding using SMAW, FCAW, GTAW TIG, and orbital processes on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel. Tasks include setting up, calibrating, and operating SAW machines and strip cladding machines to apply corrosion-resistant overlays and monitor welding parameters. Tasks include setting up and operating orbital welding machines for tube-to-tube and tube welding, programming parameters, and performing visual and NDT checks. Tasks include performing electrical and mechanical workshop maintenance, tube sheet drilling, operating fabrication tools safely, adhering to HSE guidelines, reporting discrepancies, and maintaining a clean work environment

• Proficient in reading and interpreting fabrication drawings, isometrics, and GA layouts
• Knowledge of precise layout, marking, cutting, beveling, and component fit-up per ASME/API standards
• Experience in team leading and coordinating with welders, QC inspectors, and engineers following ITPs and WPS
• Valid 6G qualification with proficiency in all positions
• Experience in welding using SMAW, FCAW, GTAW TIG, and orbital processes on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel
• Knowledge of operating SAW machines and strip cladding machines for corrosion-resistant overlays
• Knowledge of setting up, programming, and operating orbital tube-to-tube welding machines
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical workshop maintenance and tube sheet drilling
• Proficient in operating fabrication tools safely and adhering to HSE guidelines
