Job description

Health, Safety, and Environment management includes developing, implementing, and maintaining HSSE policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and ISO standards. Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to ensure a safe plant environment. Organize and deliver HSSE training programs for employees and contractors and develop educational materials. Lead investigations of incidents and near misses, document findings, and recommend corrective actions. Prepare detailed incident reports and analyses to prevent recurrence. Ensure compliance with local and international regulations and industry standards for power generation, liaising with regulatory bodies. Develop, update, and train on the plant emergency response plan, conducting drills. Monitor HSSE performance metrics and provide regular management reports, participating in audits. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering to integrate HSSE considerations. Foster a safety culture through effective communication with management, staff, and contractors. Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities and staying updated on best practices and technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational safety, engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years experience in HSSE roles within power generation or industrial sector, preferably in combined cycle plants
• NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent safety certification preferred
• ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 internal auditor certifications advantageous
• Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental regulations and ISO standards
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Proficient in MS Office and HSSE management software
• Willingness to work onsite and conduct regular site inspections
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and communicate effectively across all organizational levels
• Fluent in English
• Proficiency in Arabic is an asset.
