Safety Inspector

Job description

Responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, policies, and procedures during night shifts on a construction project. Conducts regular site inspections to identify unsafe conditions, practices, or equipment. Ensures adherence to safety standards, regulations, and company policies. Proactively identifies potential hazards and recommends corrective actions. Monitors high‑risk activities such as heavy equipment operation, electrical work, and elevated tasks. Investigates and documents incidents, near‑misses, or unsafe conditions. Prepares detailed reports and communicates findings to project management. Conducts safety briefings and toolbox talks for night‑shift workers. Promotes awareness of safety protocols and emergency procedures. Acts as first point of contact for emergencies during the night shift. Coordinates with relevant teams for timely incident response. Verifies use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Ensures compliance with site‑specific safety guidelines and local regulations. Maintains accurate records of inspections, incidents, and corrective actions. Submits daily safety reports to project management.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field
• minimum 5 years experience as a Safety Inspector, preferably in construction projects
• OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent safety certifications
• strong knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations
• excellent observation and analytical skills
• ability to work independently during night shifts
