Paramedic

Job description

The paramedic works within the mission, vision and values of King Abdulaziz University to provide professional pre-hospital and in-hospital emergency care in accordance with standards and protocols. Provides high-quality care to patients based on an understanding of their needs and maintains physical, medical, and cultural awareness of the patient. Manages proper maintenance and operation of EMS vehicles and equipment, prepares required reports, and maintains patient confidentiality. Ensures readiness of vehicles, equipment, and supplies, follows administrative and medical oversight directives, and participates in EMS team meetings.

• Proficiency in attending skills maintenance programs to ensure professional competence
• Proficiency in maintaining required professional licensing and certifications
• Proficiency in participating in the development and delivery of educational outreach programs
• Proficiency in improving communications in English and Arabic
• Proficient in helping guide and develop other employees
• Proficiency in attending professional development courses and participating in professional research programs
• Proficient in providing continuous feedback to improve the work environment and patient care
• Master the correct use of medical supplies to avoid waste
• Mastery of solving situational problems and making use of limited resources
• Proficiency in encouraging cohesive teamwork
• Proficiency in working in harmonious partnership with the EMS team and healthcare professionals
• Mastery of maintaining a positive attitude within the team
• Proficiency in maintaining a professional image and proper grooming at all times
• Mastery of accuracy, on-time arrival to duty, and organization of daily tasks
• Mastering respect for patients and their families and promoting a culture of patient-centered care
• Proficiency in participating in quality improvement and patient safety activities
• Proficiency in performing other related duties
• Bachelor's degree in EMS or Nursing with valid EMS certification and SCFHS certification
• Valid driving licence
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, AMLS courses are preferred
