Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job description

Prepares all cost aspects of civil and building works from project inception to final account. Ensures expenditure is minimized and revenue maximized without compromising employer/subcontractor relationships. • Expands knowledge on civil and building matters specific to projects. • Administers subcontractors using company procedures. • Follows up with site construction and technical teams to collect progress details. • Expands knowledge on quantity surveying matters for projects. • Manages client site instructions and variation orders. • Submits payment applications to the employer by due dates. • Prepares and monitors cash flow and budget at least monthly. • Provides contractual and commercial support and correspondence. • Prepares backup documentation for client instructions and interim valuations. • Completes and submits monthly cost reconciliations, cost‑to‑complete reports and profitability projections within one week of valuation. • Places subcontracts on approved standard terms and templates at lower allowable amounts. • Receives interim applications from subcontractors, integrates them into KCT applications and submits to employer on time. • Values subcontractor payment certificates no more than approved values and processes them promptly. • Ensures package preparation and tendering procedures are followed and coordinated. • Secures signed variation orders for scope changes and obtains payment/deduction from client or project manager

Requirements

• Proficient in computer‑based quantification tools such as CCS (Candy)
• proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• proficient in AutoCAD for quantity takeoff
• knowledge of preparing Bills of Quantities using standard methods of measurement
• knowledge of International Principles of Measurement 1979, NRM2, CESSMMIII, QSSM, QCS, FIDIC
• ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills
• minimum 8 years total work experience, 5 years relevant experience, 2 years GCC experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering
• professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or related field.
