Senior Costing Accountant

Job description

Performs product costing, manufacturing cost accounting, inventory valuation, and cost analysis to support accurate financial reporting, cost control, and informed operational decisions. Responsibilities include owning product costing for assigned operations, maintaining standard costs, BOMs, routings, labor rates, and overhead allocations; conducting standard cost roll-ups and periodic reviews; analyzing actual versus standard costs and investigating variances; supporting cost reduction initiatives; managing inventory valuation, WIP, and production order settlements; reviewing material consumption and inventory movements; supporting month-end and year-end closing activities; preparing manufacturing cost reports, inventory reconciliations, and financial analyses; performing detailed variance analysis for material, labor, overhead, and other cost elements; assisting in budget and forecast preparation; monitoring actual costs against budgets; providing financial insights for production planning; partnering with production, warehouse, procurement, planning, engineering, and quality teams; delivering financial analysis for new products and process improvements; ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and internal controls; maintaining documentation; supporting audits; improving costing procedures and reporting; identifying automation opportunities
