Plant Propagation Specialist

Job description

Responsible for propagating, creating, and managing plant material to support living botanical gardens, displays, and conservation programs. Applies propagation methods such as seed, cutting, grafting, and division to produce genetically healthy plant stock. Manages nursery areas and propagation inventory. Develops propagation protocols for rare and threatened species. Monitors plants throughout establishment phases. Maintains detailed propagation records. Evaluates success rates to improve techniques and support long‑term sustainability and conservation value

Requirements

• Experience in managing plant material
• experience in propagation methods such as seed, cutting, grafting, and division
• experience in applying other horticultural techniques
• experience in producing genetically healthy plant stock
• experience in managing nursery areas and propagation inventory
• experience in developing propagation protocols for rare, threatened, and difficult‑to‑propagate species
• experience in monitoring plants during various establishment stages
• experience in maintaining detailed propagation records
• experience in evaluating success rates to improve techniques and support long‑term sustainability and conservation value
