Shift Charge Engineer

Job description

The Shift Charge Engineer role involves overseeing the day-to-day operation of the combined cycle power plant, including gas turbines, steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), and other auxiliary systems, ensuring they operate within design parameters. This also includes ensuring that power generation meets the demand specified in the PPA, continuously monitoring load requirements and adjusting output accordingly

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical) or a related field
• Relevant certifications in power plant operation or management are an asset
• Around 8 years of experience in power plant operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
• Specific experience in combined cycle plants is preferred
• Siemens GT based CCGT experience is preferred
• Strong understanding of combined cycle power generation processes
• Proficiency in English is essential
• Knowledge of Arabic is advantageous
• Ability to work in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, capable of managing emergency situations effectively
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational needs
