Senior Safety Officer

Job description

Responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance in the employer oil and gas operations. Duties include developing and implementing safety policies, procedures and programs for closures and diversions, and conducting field inspections, risk assessments and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance. Responsibilities include leading accident investigations, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence, and providing safety training and awareness programs for employees and contractors. It also includes maintaining accurate safety records and preparing reports to management and regulators, advising management on safety issues, participating in emergency response planning, and promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the organization

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of industry safety standards, regulations, and best practices
• excel

• Experience in safety roles in the oil and gas industry
• Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental science, engineering, or related field (preferred)
• NEBOSH, OSHA or equivalent certifications (preferred)
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments and manage multiple tasks effectively
