Mechanical Engineer

Job description

The role oversees mechanical operations during scheduled shutdown and turnaround activities to ensure safe and efficient execution in line with quality standards. Plans, supervises, and implements mechanical engineering tasks and coordinates with contractors and other engineering disciplines. Conducts inspections and monitors equipment and system quality, ensuring compliance with safety standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. Provides technical expertise and on‑site problem‑solving support, prepares progress reports and documentation, and communicates regularly with stakeholders. Plans and allocates resources to meet project schedules

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance and repair methodologies
• proficient in Excel, technical support, quality control and compliance
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• proven experience 5+ years in mechanical engineering roles within shutdown and turnaround projects
• excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills
• ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• familiarity with safety systems and quality control standards
