Senior Process Engineer - Water & Wastewater Treatment

Job description

The engineer develops and reviews Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and design basis documents. Performs process, hydraulic, mass balance calculations, and equipment sizing. Designs and selects water and wastewater treatment processes including Reverse Osmosis, Ultrafiltration, Multimedia Filtration, Activated Carbon, Greensand, chemical pretreatment, clarification, coagulation, flocculation, sludge treatment, and biological systems such as STP, MBR, MBBR, SBR. Prepares equipment datasheets and specifications for pumps, vessels, filters, blowers, mixers, and dosing systems. Generates hydraulic profiles, pump head calculations, and control philosophies. Develops control narratives, cause‑and‑effect matrices, and operating sequences. Reviews vendor technical offers, drawings, calculations, and prepares technical bid evaluations and review comments. Coordinates with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, and project engineering teams, reviews 3D models and equipment layouts. Responds to client technical comments, RFIs, and clarification requests. Supports HAZOP studies, design reviews, FAT, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and performance testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment engineering
• Proficient in RO design, membrane systems, filtration, chemical dosing and hydraulic calculations
• Knowledge of AWWA, ASTM, ASME and international water treatment standards
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel and engineering calculation tools
• Experience with membrane design software such as WAVE or ROSA is an advantage
• Strong technical reporting, engineering documentation and English communication skills
