Senior Accountant

Job description

This role based in Riyadh involves managing accounting operations and financial reporting accurately. Responsibilities include effectively creating and documenting high volumes of journal entries with minimal errors and review. Appropriately discussing and defending work and analyses. Serving as a point of contact for external auditors and personnel, preparing analyses and schedules, and resolving routine problems. Interacting with peers in other functions to gather and disseminate accounting information. Serving as a technical resource for junior employees. Performing and supervising accounting sub-functions and preparing financial reports and statistics. Coordinating schedules, activities, and reports with other departments. Establishing and maintaining operating procedures within internal controls and company policies. Ensuring timely and accurate preparation of month-end close journal entries and accounting transactions. Maintaining, reconciling, and resolving P&L and balance sheet ledger accounts. Managing reporting requirements for statutory and corporate compliance, including VAT, WHT, and cash flow forecasts. Preparing analyses and schedules for local management, internal, and external auditors. Interacting with peers, external customers, auditors, and functional group members. Training employees in other functions on accounting software tools as needed. Owning accounting processes supporting balance sheet accruals, provisions, allocations, and reclassifications. Performing ad hoc analyses as needed.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience
• CPA or equivalent qualification is a plus
• Ability to gain cooperation of others, conduct presentations, or provide technical information concerning specific projects
• Experience in a comparable multi-national organization, with biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting policies and procedures
• Prior experience in a comparable organization with responsibility for processes such as financial reporting, tax, AR/Credit, A/P
• Strong knowledge of integrated Enterprise systems, ideally SAP, and proficiency with Microsoft tools
