Job description

The role involves leading the Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) team in implementing effective HSSE systems. Key responsibilities include: · Ensuring the availability and adequacy of all HSSE provisions for Supervision Consultants and Contractors as per the requirements of this Policy, Construction Contracts General Conditions and Specifications, their HSSE Plans, Employer’s HSSE Requirements, and applicable local/national and international statutes and Regulations. · Measuring the HSSE performance of Supervision Consultants and Contractors and advising on necessary actions for improvement. · Investigating direct and root/underlying causes of accidents/incidents and advising recommendations to prevent recurrence. · Recording and following-up on noted safety hazards and non-conformances to HSSE regulators and parties having jurisdiction. · Coordinating with the PMC Project Manager/Construction Manager in implementing effective HSSE systems on project sites. · Liaising with the Employer, PMC (the employer), and Local/Enforcing Authorities/Municipality Authorities to ensure adherence to HSSE Requirements of their projects. · Training and inducting staff on HSSE. · Reviewing and approving Contractors’ HSSE documents, submittals, drawings, etc. to verify their suitability, adequacy, and conformance. · Ensuring Supervision Consultants’ and Contractors’ full compliance with Project HSSE Requirements. · Carrying out scheduled and unscheduled HSSE audits and inspections and reporting to the Project management team on identified non-conformances for necessary action and correction by the violating party

Requirements

• Knowledge of HSSE sciences/engineering systems, principles and methodologies
• Knowledge of technical terminology common to industrial hygiene, health physics, safety engineering, and environmental compliance

• 15+ years of experience in large-scale projects
