Operations & Maintenance Technician

Job description

Responsible for operating and monitoring the employer pneumatic waste collection systems, including collection stations, inlet stations, pneumatic equipment, electrical controls, and mechanical components. Performs routine, preventive, and proactive maintenance according to approved schedules and technical manuals. Diagnoses mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults and resolves them to minimize downtime. Conducts regular inspections, functional testing, and condition assessments, ensuring timely repairs. Executes authorized electrical and pneumatic work and supports initial start‑up per the employer procedures. Maintains accurate service records, inspection reports, checklists, and technical documentation. Utilizes computerized maintenance systems to track work orders, equipment performance, and maintenance history. Monitors critical spare‑parts and consumables stock levels. Supports replacement of worn components and recommends improvements to maintenance plans and equipment reliability. Ensures compliance with the employer requirements, site procedures, legislation, and HSE standards. Applies safe isolation procedures before work, including power and air shutdown, lockout/tagout, and PPE use. Coordinates professionally with clients, facilities teams, subcontractors, and internal operations, providing technical guidance and site updates. Participates in shift work, on‑call duty, emergency call‑outs, and weekend/public‑holiday coverage as required
