Safety Officer

Job description

The Safety Officer conducts inspections of equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure the safety of workers in Oil & Gas facilities. Inspects safety belts, ladders, ropes, rubber goods, and tools and replaces those not meeting safety requirements. Observes crews and reports laxity in safety precautions such as failure to use goggles, rubber gloves, and other safety devices. Examines conditions of ditches and tunnels and recommends braces to prevent cave‑ins. Investigates accidents to determine causes and devises preventive measures. May instruct workers in the use of safety equipment and safe work methods. Ensures compliance with all safety procedures, encourages reporting of unsafe acts and conditions, and complies with all SHE procedures before and during work.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years experience in Oil & Gas maintenance – High School
• Minimum 6 years experience in Oil & Gas maintenance – Diploma
• Strong technical understanding of maintenance jobs related to safety
• Well organized and proactive with excellent communication skill
• Proven leadership skills with large organizations
• Maturity of judgment under pressure and ability to resolve problems
• Strategic management skills
