Commercial Manager - Fresh Food

Job description

The Commercial Manager - Fresh Food leads the commercial strategy across Fresh Food categories, including Produce, Bakery, Delicatessen, Meat, Poultry, Seafood, and Dairy. The role drives sales growth, profitability, product quality, supplier partnerships, and category innovation while ensuring freshness, availability, and an exceptional customer experience across all stores. Develops and executes the commercial strategy for Fresh Food categories to achieve sales, margin, and growth objectives. Manages category assortment, pricing, promotions, and seasonal plans to meet customer demand and business targets. Builds and maintains strong relationships with local and international suppliers to secure high-quality products and competitive commercial terms. Leads supplier negotiations, annual agreements, investment plans, and promotional funding initiatives. Monitors category performance, including sales, gross margin, waste, shrinkage, stock availability, and inventory turnover. Ensures Fresh Food products meet quality, food safety, and regulatory standards while maintaining the highest freshness levels. Collaborates with Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, and Store teams to optimize product availability and operational execution. Analyzes market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for category growth and innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Food Science, Supply Chain, or a related field
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Fresh Food Commercial, Category Management, Buying, or Merchandising roles within retail, hypermarkets, supermarkets, or FMCG
• Strong knowledge of Fresh Food categories, sourcing practices, supplier management, and market dynamics
• Proven experience in commercial negotiations, category planning, pricing, and promotional management
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate sales performance, margins, waste, and inventory metrics
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
