Traffic Signal & ITS Field Support Engineer

Job description

Serve as a field support engineer for traffic signals and ITS in a major Riyadh program. Develop and review procedures for installation, maintenance, testing, and operation of field equipment. Provide technical support and quality oversight for contractor and maintenance activities. Coordinate with the Traffic Control Center, equipment suppliers, and technical leads to ensure work meets approved standards. Conduct site visits to observe, assess, and support field operations.

Requirements

• Practical understanding of DC/AC power, UPS/battery, and solar backup for field installations
• Commitment to quality control and HSE/safety compliance in field operations
• 7+ years experience in ITS, traffic systems, telecommunications, power, or field/maintenance engineering
• Working knowledge of traffic signal and ITS field equipment including controllers, cabinets, detection systems, communications, and CCTV/ELV
• Ability to develop and review procedures, method statements, maintenance and testing protocols, and technical documentation
• Ability to review field activities and technical submittals for compliance with standards, designs, RFCs, and as-built documents
• Familiarity with central management and monitoring software such as TransSuite or SolarWinds
• Ability to coordinate and support field teams and produce clear procedural, technical, and quality reports
• Proficiency in English
• Arabic proficiency is an advantage
• Experience with traffic signal controllers like McCain or Peek
• Experience with vehicle detection systems such as FLIR or Dahua
• Membership in the Saudi Council of Engineers and a valid Saudi driving license
• Background in fiber optics and telecommunications equipment like the employer, Huawei, or Cisco.
