Service Technician

Job description

The Service Technician supports the Customer Reliability Engineer on site and is responsible for refurbishing mechanical seals and related activities in a highly professional seal repair environment. Performs daily equipment inspections to identify reliability, safety and environmental issues; assists the reliability engineer with failure reporting and root cause analysis; identifies and recommends training needs for maintenance and operations; dismantles and cleans mechanical seals and parts under repair; inspects mechanical seals and cartridges; prepares parts breakdown for repair according to seal repair SOP; assembles and repairs seals and cartridges per John Crane drawings and specifications; tests seals and cartridges following John Crane procedures; manages local seal spare inventory for contractual repairs; ensures quality and safety in all tasks; exercises due diligence for health and safety of self and others; complies with QHSE instructions, laws and regulations from customers and authorities.

Requirements

• Diploma or University degree in Engineering or relevant technical qualification
• 3+ years professional experience in a proactive multinational and multicultural environment
• ability to understand component and assembly drawings
• knowledge of rotating equipment operation principles and troubleshooting
• API knowledge
• proficient in MS Office
• SAP knowledge is an advantage
• excellent written and verbal business communication
• knowledge of labor reporting, work order variances, SAP or equivalent ERP systems
• mining industry knowledge is an advantage
• English language proficiency
• Arabic speaking is an advantage
• knowledge of seal failure modes is an advantage.
