QC Supervisor - Steel Structure

Job description

Supervises quality activities in designated disciplines according to the quality management system. Plans, controls and performs inspections and tests and manages inspectors. Monitors work performance based on risk management and applicable processes. Manages quality performance indicators and coordinates corrective actions with other disciplines. Liaises with clients to resolve quality issues such as non‑conformances and observations. Manages activities through system tools like FMCS and SCMS. Identifies and mitigates quality risks, conducts audits and inspections. Applies structural engineering principles, designs and constructs steel structures per codes such as AISC, understands steel structure drawings and specifications, and employs quality control and inspection techniques.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
• 10+ years direct experience in inspection of capital project quality
• proficiency with project specifications and standards and medium to large project experience
• experience in oil/gas/petrochemical or power plants
• Engineering & Construction company experience in GCC countries
• NDT Level II or higher certification
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification
• expert knowledge of relevant codes, standards and regulatory requirements
• advanced inspection techniques, tools, material testing methods and documentation
• understanding of project management principles
• leadership and management skills
• ability to motivate a team
• excellent communication and negotiation skills
• ability to analyze and solve complex problems
• ability to work under pressure
• knowledge and experience in process structures, pipe racks, platforms, offshore structures.
