R&D Specialist

About the Role the employer is seeking an R&D Specialist to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah. This full-time role involves leading new product development, optimizing formulations, and driving continuous improvement within manufacturing processes. The specialist will contribute to material science advancements and impact product innovation. Key Responsibilities Drive end-to-end development of new and existing products from conception to commercialization, ensuring alignment with market needs and company goals. Develop and optimize formulations, specifically for PVC, CPVC, and PP compounds, to meet performance and cost targets. Select and evaluate raw materials and additives such as stabilizers, fillers, impact modifiers, and lubricants. Assess alternative suppliers in coordination with the procurement team. Conduct product testing, material evaluation, and production trials, ensuring full compliance with international standards including ASTM, ISO, SASO, NSF, and UL. Investigate material-related issues using Root Cause Analysis (RCA), analyze scrap and defects, and recommend cost-reduction initiatives. Prepare and maintain precise material specifications, datasheets, and validation reports. Provide support to production teams on the shop floor. Qualifications and Experience A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant R&D role. Demonstrated experience in product development and formulation optimization. Familiarity with international standards (ASTM, ISO, SASO, NSF, UL) for material testing and validation. Work Environment and Location This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, Makkah. The role requires hands-on involvement within a dynamic team environment, focusing on research and development within the manufacturing sector.
