Planning & Scheduling Engineer

Job description

The role leads all aspects of project planning, scheduling, forecasting, and delay analysis across major road and infrastructure programs. Provides strategic oversight of project timelines and ensures activities align with approved milestones and contractual requirements. Develops and manages the Master Project Schedule using Primavera P6, integrating all components with scope, resources, and timelines. Reviews contractor baseline schedules for logical sequencing, resource loading, and contract compliance, preparing detailed recommendations. Monitors progress, assesses work performance, analyzes schedule variances, identifies deviations, and proposes corrective actions. Conducts schedule forecasting, completion date analysis, and prepares mitigation and recovery plans for delayed or at‑risk activities. Leads schedule risk assessments, what‑if analyses, and delay analyses to support Extension of Time claims and contractual decisions. Prepares high‑quality dashboards, KPIs, and executive reports with clear insights on schedule status, risks, and trends. Collaborates with project managers, discipline engineers, consultants, and contractors to validate data, resolve conflicts, and maintain alignment. Ensures full compliance with contractual and industry planning and scheduling standards, preferably with FIDIC contracts. Leads, mentors, and supervises the planning team, providing guidance and performance oversight to junior planners and schedulers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• minimum 15 years of professional planning experience on major infrastructure projects
• expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6 and strong working knowledge of MS Project and other planning tools
• strong command of project controls methodologies including earned value management, productivity analysis, and schedule forecasting
• proven expertise in delay analysis, Extension of Time submissions, and contract interpretation
• excellent leadership, analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and interpersonal communication skills for multidisciplinary environments
