Job description

The role focuses on providing commercial and contractual advisory services, emphasizing post‑contract claims management, quantum analysis, and extension of time assessments. Advise on contractual entitlement, risk allocation and interpret contract provisions under FIDIC. Prepare and respond to claims submissions with supporting documentation. Maintain a comprehensive claims register. Draft contractual correspondence. Identify and evaluate interface risks across civil, structural, architectural, transport and MEP packages. Develop claims defence strategies and support negotiations. Conduct forensic quantum analysis of cost and delay impacts. Validate contractor submissions. Produce independent quantum reports. Perform detailed EOT assessments including critical path analysis. Review and analyse project delays. Provide strategic commercial advice to mitigate risks. Conduct contract audits and commercial reviews. Support dispute avoidance and early claim resolution. Prepare expert reports and provide commercial input to legal teams. Manage cost estimates, cost plans and revisions. Establish cost control, monitoring and forecasting systems. Develop cost databases and benchmark rates. Review variation submissions. Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and subcontractors. Negotiate final accounts ensuring fair and accurate outcomes.

Requirements

• Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying (ideally RICS accredited)
• knowledge of international forms of contract particularly FIDIC/CESSM3
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
• over 10 years experience in post‑contract work managing claims, payment certificates, variation orders on major infrastructure projects
• proficiency in assessing value of completed works and administering interim payment applications and certification
• proficiency in preparing and analysing quantum and EOT assessments
• proficiency in drafting contractual correspondence
• MRICS and preferably a registered or licensed professional preferred
• railway project experience preferred
• GCC experience preferred
