Landscape Architect (Horticulture)

Job description

You will design and create functional, aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces that meet client needs and comply with environmental regulations. You will collaborate with other professionals to develop site plans and landscape designs for various projects. You will direct research and experiments to identify land use problems, select suitable plant varieties, nursery techniques, and optimal methods for planting, spraying, cultivating, harvesting, storing, processing, or transporting agricultural/horticultural products, as well as pest and weed management. You will provide guidance on planning and developing community projects and on programs that achieve quality landscaping designs, effective implementation, and potential cost reduction. You will develop training programs for staff on the latest agricultural/horticultural technologies, including plant pest control. You will study soil characteristics and develop improved measurement techniques, soil conservation methods, sampling devices, or other necessary technologies. You will design work programs for implementation by gardening, landscaping, and nursery personnel, coordinate and implement Integrated Pest Management programs, and prepare periodic performance reports for supervisory review. The position is located onsite in the Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Landscaping, or equivalent
• 8 years of experience in gardening, landscaping, or agriculture
• at least 5 years of experience in horticulture, gardening, or plantations
• proficiency in conducting research and experiments to identify land use problems
• proficiency in selecting suitable plant varieties and nursery techniques
• proficiency in planning and designing community projects
• proficiency in developing training programs on latest agricultural/horticultural technologies
• proficiency in integrated pest management
• proficiency in preparing periodic performance reports
