Mechanical Engineer - Utilities Maintenance

Job description

Mechanical Engineer specialized in utilities maintenance within the petrochemical sector, responsible for ensuring reliability and efficiency of utility systems. Oversee maintenance and operation of utilities equipment including steam generation, water treatment, air and gas compressors, cooling towers and related systems. Conduct regular inspections and troubleshoot equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with standards. Implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency. Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports and incident reports. Participate in risk assessments and safety audits related to utilities operations. Stay updated on advancements in utilities technology and apply best practices

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of steam generation, water treatment, air and gas compressors, and cooling systems
• Expertise in troubleshooting mechanical failures and implementing effective solutions
• Proficiency in Excel
• Effective communication skills
• Experience in corrective maintenance
• Knowledge of compliance requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in utilities maintenance within the petrochemical industry
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Strong analytical skills
• Familiarity with industry safety and environmental regulations
• Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools
