Team Leader - Production

Job description

Responsible for overseeing daily operations of the event production workshop, ensuring scenic elements, structures, custom displays, and furniture are fabricated efficiently, safely, and to high quality standards. Leads a team of carpenters, welders, painters, and junior fabricators, acting as the primary link between Project Managers/Designers and the workshop floor. Conducts daily toolbox talks, interprets technical and CAD drawings, coordinates workflow to reduce waste, supports or leads on‑site installations, updates Project Managers on progress and issues, enforces health and safety rules, inspects finished products, manages raw material inventory, and ensures equipment maintenance.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in scenic construction, exhibit fabrication, or a fast‑paced workshop environment
• proven ability to lead a team with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• proficiency in reading technical drawings and experience with woodworking, metalworking, or scenic painting
• basic knowledge of ERP or inventory software is a plus, along with Microsoft Office/Excel for reporting
• strong hands‑on problem‑solving ability in high‑pressure situations
