Petrophysics Data Quality Specialist

Job description

The role strengthens the quality, consistency, and usability of subsurface petrophysical data. Validates 1D data packages against corporate standards, identifying and fixing formatting, depth, or metadata errors. Liaises between technical users and service providers/IT to define requirements and ensure smooth data flow into subsurface systems. Applies data governance rules, maintains submission templates, and ensures consistent data storage practices. Monitors data quality metrics and provides technical support to internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years experience in Oil & Gas, specifically petrophysics and data quality management
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, or Petroleum Engineering
• Deep knowledge of well log and core physics
• Experience with LAS/ASCII petrophysics data formats and subsurface information systems such as Techlog or Petrel
• Advanced capability in data analysis, data science, or business analytics
• Advanced skills in Excel, SQL, or Python for data validation
• Professional proficiency in English with strong communication skills
• Ability to resolve conflicts and work across multiple departments
• Excellent project management capabilities
• Experience coordinating work across multiple departments to resolve data or process issues
• Preferred Master's degree in Data Analysis, Data Science, Business Analytics, or MIS
