Core Logging Geologist

Job description

We are seeking a Core Logging Geologist to join our mineral exploration team. The candidate will be responsible for detailed geological logging of drill core, sample management, and supporting exploration programs focused on base metals with emphasis on gold exploration. The role requires excellent geological interpretation skills, adherence to industry standards, and the ability to work effectively in remote field environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Applied Geology, or a related Earth Science discipline
• minimum 5 years of hands‑on field experience in mineral exploration
• proven expertise in core logging for base metal exploration with significant experience in gold exploration projects
• strong understanding of structural geology, alteration mineralogy, and ore deposit geology
• experience with geological logging software and database management systems
• knowledge of QA/QC protocols for drilling and sampling
• ability to work independently in remote field locations under challenging conditions
• strong analytical, communication, and report‑writing skills
• proficiency in Microsoft Office and geological data management software
• experience working on greenfield and brownfield exploration projects
• familiarity with industry reporting standards and exploration best practices
• ability to interpret geological data and contribute to exploration targeting
• strong teamwork and problem‑solving abilities
