Electrical Engineer

Job description

Senior Electrical Engineer role within the program management and PMCM team in Saudi Arabia. Provides program-level electrical engineering expertise and technical governance for a mega multi-work package land and infrastructure development program in Riyadh for a major government entity. Reviews and oversees all electrical designs to ensure power distribution systems, substations, utility networks, and street lighting are fully integrated and compliant with approved standards, utility requirements, statutory regulations, and operational needs under the Technical Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
• Chartered Professional membership or equivalent professional accreditation
• Minimum fifteen (15) years professional experience in electrical infrastructure, power distribution systems, utility networks, urban development, infrastructure delivery, or major capital projects
• Proficient in reviewing electrical engineering reports, design calculations, load studies, specifications, drawings, and power demand analyses
• Knowledge of evaluating electrical solutions for safety, reliability, resilience, operability, maintainability, energy efficiency, and sustainability
• Experience reviewing medium- and low-voltage networks, substations, utility corridors, and street lighting systems
• Knowledge of assessing electrical load forecasts, network capacities, utility interface requirements, and power supply strategies
• Proficient in coordinating with utility providers and regulatory authorities for approvals and technical compliance
• Proficient in supporting engineering governance by reviewing technical compliance, deviations, design modifications, and value engineering proposals
• Knowledge of assessing design change impacts on safety, reliability, operational efficiency, sustainability, cost, schedule, and lifecycle performance
• Proficient in providing technical recommendations for engineering decisions and risk mitigation
• Experience coordinating with lead developers, consultants, contractors, utility providers, government authorities, and regulatory agencies
• Proficient in preparing technical assessments, review comments, executive summaries, and recommendations for the Technical Manager, PMCM Management, and the Client
• Proficient in participating in multidisciplinary design reviews, technical workshops, coordination meetings, and stakeholder engagement sessions
• Proficient in leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and problem solving.
