Sr. Construction Manager

Job description

The Senior Construction Manager acts as the PMC's lead representative for major tunnelling and underground infrastructure projects. Provides strategic oversight of construction activities, ensuring compliance with schedules, budgets, safety and quality requirements. Leads contractor oversight teams, evaluates performance, and validates work methods and execution plans. Offers technical guidance on tunnelling methods, ground support, dewatering and support systems. Promotes a "Safety First" culture and monitors compliance with international HSE standards. Tracks progress, identifies schedule risks, and delivers executive progress reports to the client. Supports commercial teams in claim and change order evaluation and aids dispute resolution. Interfaces with client, contractors, designers and authorities to present performance updates, risks and mitigation plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Master's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Project Management preferred
• Professional Engineer (PE, CEng or equivalent) preferred
• Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) desirable
• Minimum 20 years experience in major infrastructure construction projects
• Minimum 15 years experience in tunnelling and underground works
• Proven PMC or client‑side leadership on mega projects
• Experience managing projects exceeding USD 1 billion
• Proficiency with Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) and micro‑TBM
• Proficiency with NATM/SEM/VMT techniques
• Proficiency in deep shafts and cavern construction
• Proficiency in underground premium accommodation
• Proficiency in underground utility and infrastructure tunnels
• Experience in international project delivery environments and complex stakeholder frameworks
