Job Description OVERVIEW Job Title Senior Engineer Job Code Grade I 2 Group Government Products Division Technology Department Unit - ROLE PURPOSE The aim is to state the overall significance of the job from the organization’s perspective. To support the engineering, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of technology platforms that enable efficient application development and deployment. The role contributes to building stable, scalable, reliable, and secure platform environments, supporting application teams throughout the delivery lifecycle, resolving technical issues, and improving platform capabilities in alignment with Elm’s operational requirements, policies, and procedures. Key Accountabilities Key Activities • Platform Engineering & Development • Develop, configure, and maintain technology platforms that support application development and deployment. • Implement platform components and enhancements based on approved technical requirements. • Apply engineering standards and reusable approaches to improve platform consistency and maintainability. • Support the delivery of scalable platform capabilities across development and production environments. • Platform Operations & Maintenance • Support day-to-day operation and maintenance of assigned technology platforms. • Perform platform health checks and monitor availability, capacity, and operational performance. • Execute routine maintenance, upgrades, patches, and configuration activities. • Support platform stability and continuity across technology environments. • Application Deployment & Release Support • Support application teams in deploying applications and services across approved platform environments. • Coordinate deployment requirements, configurations, and platform dependencies with relevant technical teams. • Support release validation and post-deployment verification activities. • Troubleshoot platform-related deployment issues and support timely resolution. • Platform Monitoring & Incident Resolution • Monitor platform services and respond to technical alerts, incidents, and operational issues. • Troubleshoot platform failures and investigate underlying technical causes. • Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for recurring issues. • Escalate complex technical issues and coordinate resolution with relevant teams when required. • Platform Reliability & Performance Optimization • Analyze platform performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency. • Support performance tuning and capacity optimization activities. • Identify technical bottlenecks and contribute to appropriate improvement actions. • Implement approved enhancements that strengthen platform stability and service performance. • Platform Automation & Standardization • Support automation of platform provisioning, configuration, deployment, and operational activities. • Develop or maintain scripts and reusable technical configurations that reduce manual effort. • Contribute to standardization of platform environments and engineering practices. • Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency through automation and streamlined workflows. • Technical Integration & Development Team Enablement • Collaborate with application development, DevOps, infrastructure, QA, and other technical teams to address platform requirements. • Support integration of applications and services with relevant platform capabilities. • Assist development teams in resolving platform-related technical challenges. • Maintain technical documentation and guidance to support effective use of platform services. • Platform Improvement & Technical Knowledge • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across platform engineering and operations. • Evaluate assigned technologies and recommend practical enhancements within the scope of the role. • Maintain platform documentation, troubleshooting references, configurations, and operational procedures. • Share technical knowledge and lessons learned with relevant team members to improve delivery consistency. • Policies, Processes & Procedures • Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner. • Comply with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment. • Information Security JOB SPECIFICATIONS Academic and professional qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Years and Nature of Experience 2–4 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Application Platforms, Cloud Platforms, Infrastructure Engineering, or related domains.
