Job Title: Chemist Reports: Operations Manager Position: Operations Job Location: Medina, Sidra Job Purpose: Perform laboratory analysis, sample testing, evaluate results and support in establishing plant operational parameters, in order to ensure efficient testing and sampling in compliance with NOMAC policies, quality standards and HSE procedures. Key Responsibilities: Laboratory Testing • Receive, examine and record samples to ensure appropriate tests and analyzes are performed and test results are reported in an accurate and timely manner according to planned timelines to meet end user requirements. • Keep up with and understand regulatory requirements related to environmental compliance, chemicals used in the plant, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), P&IDs, SOPs, work instructions, as well as emergency operating procedures and any other relevant documentation, to ensure compliance with standards and rules. Plant Chemistry • Interpret test results to help determine optimal operating parameters, both for current operations and to maintain long-term plant health. • Provide process-related assistance to the operations team on issues affecting plant operation and performance in order to maximize yield in accordance with quality guidelines. • Provide support in all internal and external quality, health, safety and environment audits, in order to effectively implement corrective actions proposed by the team. Handling laboratories • Ensure annual calibration of laboratory instruments by a third party in accordance with I requirements MS to ensure equipment is maintained in safe and efficient working order. • Investigate and make recommendations to the Chief Chemist on various operational problems related to chemical and physical analysis to obtain data for process monitoring and quality verification. • Maintain adequate inventory of all consumable chemicals (bulk and fine chemicals, glassware, etc.) and dosing and testing equipment in the plant, to ensure timely availability and uninterrupted laboratory services. Continuous Improvement • Contribute to the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programs and projects in line with organization standards. Policies, Processes, Systems and Procedures • Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out to required standards and in a consistent manner. Health, Safety, Security and Environment • Adhere to all procedures, instructions and controls relating to health, safety, security and environment so that employee safety and environmental compliance can be ensured. Related Tasks • Perform any other duties that may be requested by the line manager that require their implementation. • Bachelor's degree holder in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering Minimum experience
