Senior Mechanical Engineer for Projects

Job description

The Senior Mechanical Project Engineer in MEP operations leads planning, design, and execution of mechanical projects while ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, and standards. Provides technical expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design. Collaborates with clients, architects, and stakeholders to develop comprehensive design solutions. Manages project budgets, schedules, and resources for timely and cost‑effective delivery. Conducts site visits and inspections to assess progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure safety compliance. Coordinates with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers for materials and equipment. Oversees preparation of drawings, specifications, and project manuals. Leads project meetings, communicates status updates, and addresses concerns. Mentors junior engineers and ensures successful project completion including commissioning, testing, closeout, and maintenance transition. Supports HSE initiatives, participates in safety awareness activities, and contributes to incident reporting per company policies

Requirements

• Professional degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Engineer registration (UPDA)
• Profound understanding of mechanical engineering principles, codes, and standards for MEP projects
• Expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design
• Strong project management skills including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Problem‑solving aptitude for complex technical challenges
• ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills
• Minimum 8 years of overall experience
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• GCC experience is a plus
