Senior Technical Engineer

Job description

The Senior Technical Engineer manages design for residential, commercial, and warehouse/industrial projects. Reviews structural designs, initiates value engineering, and identifies early-stage design and construction issues. Ensures structural system suitability and design criteria accuracy, directing consultants to meet schedule. Coordinates structural drawing documentation with architectural and MEP works. Analyzes basic structural components, reviews design criteria including loads, geotechnical, wind, seismic, and fire protection. Verifies load plans compliance with codes and project purpose. Assesses impact of temporary works and provides calculations. Collaborates with architects to align safe designs with aesthetic concepts and MEP requirements. Oversees onsite material testing, produces weekly progress reports, ensures accurate shop and as-built drawings, and closes technical and material submittals. Leads team coaching, supports HSE initiatives, and participates in safety activities

Requirements

• advanced proficiency in CAD software
• proficiency in other design tools
• extensive knowledge of architectural and engineering principles
• strong understanding of building codes, regulations and standards
• experience reviewing design criteria
• experience analyzing structural loads and geotechnical conditions
• experience coordinating with architects and MEP engineers
• excellent communication and leadership skills
• problem‑solving abilities
• ERP knowledge, preferably SAP
• minimum 8 years total experience
• at least 5 years relevant experience
• GCC experience is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Civil Engineering
