Electrical Technical Engineer

Job description

Job Summary: Provides technical engineering support for electrical systems, equipment, and infrastructure across projects and operational activities. Supports design, review, installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure compliance with specifications, safety requirements, and regulations. Manages and liaises with MEP coordinators, main contractor technical team, and consultants. Ensures shop drawings are prepared according to design drawings and specifications in coordination with all disciplines. Ensures drawing submission schedule meets target quality and timeline. Ensures shop drawings comply with local authorities such as KM, QCDD, Ooredoo and standards like QCS2014. Adheres to company policies and procedures. Ensures client, consultant, main contractor and MEP project manager satisfaction. Guides technical engineers/drafters through the engineering phase. Sets specific targets for work activities and plans responsibility allocation. Reviews and approves electrical shop drawings and design calculations before submission. Reviews and signs off electrical material submittals before issuing to consultant. Reviews and approves method statements in compliance with project specifications and authorities. Liaises with other technical departments for relevant reviews and approvals. Supports HSE initiatives, participates in safety awareness activities, and contributes to incident reporting and resolution per company and IMS policies

Requirements

• Professional degree in MMUP Engineer Registration (UPDA)
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Strong knowledge of the construction field
• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards
• Knowledge of NFPA
• Knowledge of local regulations
• UPDA certified engineer or certification with attestation
• ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills
• Minimum 8 years working experience
• 5 years relevant experience
• 2 years GCC experience is a plus
• Proficient in electrical load diagrams/schedules and calculation L4
• Proficient in electrical the employer design L4
• Proficient in electrical wiring L4
• Proficient in ELV cabling L4
• Proficient in voltage drop calculation L4
