A Lead Developer designs and builds the programme’s infrastructure, including roads, water, sewer, storm drainage, power and street lighting, irrigation, landscape and telecom. Our team reviews, supervises and accepts that work on the client’s behalf. The Mechanical Engineer will oversee the irrigation and pumping systems serving the programme’s parks, streetscapes and public realm on an assigned package. The role covers design and submittal review, site supervision, and testing and commissioning through to handover. It involves close coordination with the landscape, utilities, drainage and electrical disciplines, the developer’s contractors and the relevant utility authorities. Key Responsibilities • Review irrigation and mechanical design submissions, hydraulic and water-demand calculations, drawings, shop drawings and material submittals for irrigation networks, pump stations, pipelines, valves, filtration and control systems, checking compliance with the approved specifications and client standards. • Supervise and inspect irrigation and mechanical works on site against the approved drawings, specifications and quality procedures. • Witness and verify testing and commissioning, including hydrostatic pressure tests for pipelines, pump operational and performance tests, network flushing, and commissioning of controllers and central control systems. Ensure that failed tests are corrected and re-tested. • Process and track Work and Material Inspection Requests (WIRs/MIRs), and raise and follow up Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for the discipline. • Review water-supply, TSE, storage and pumping provisions, and give feedback on maintainability, sustainability and life-cycle performance. Support value engineering and constructability reviews. • Coordinate interfaces with the landscape, water, drainage and electrical disciplines, and with utility providers on connections, tie-ins and authority witnessing. • Review close-out deliverables, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals and plans, warranty certificates, spare-parts lists and commissioning certificates. Witness the contractor’s training of operations staff on the irrigation systems. • Guide the package Mechanical and Irrigation Inspectors, and contribute to progress reports and site meetings
