Senior Process Engineer - Water & Wastewater Treatment

Job description

The engineer designs and develops water and wastewater treatment processes for industrial and municipal plants. Develops Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), prepares process descriptions and design basis documents. Performs process, hydraulic, mass balance calculations and equipment sizing. Selects and designs RO, UF, MMF, activated carbon, greensand, chemical pretreatment, clarification, coagulation, flocculation, sludge treatment, and biological systems such as STP, MBR, MBBR, SBR. Prepares equipment datasheets and specifications for pumps, vessels, filters, blowers, mixers, and dosing systems. Generates hydraulic profiles, pump head calculations, control philosophies, and operating sequences. Reviews vendor technical offers, drawings, and calculations and prepares technical bid evaluations. Coordinates with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, and project engineering teams. Reviews 3D models and equipment layouts for process compliance and accessibility. Responds to client technical comments, RFIs, and clarification requests. Supports HAZOP studies, design reviews, FAT, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and performance testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field
• 8-10 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment engineering
• Proficiency in RO design, membrane systems, filtration, chemical dosing and hydraulic calculations
• Knowledge of AWWA, ASTM, ASME and international water treatment standards
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel and engineering calculation tools
• Experience with membrane design software such as WAVE or ROSA is an advantage
• Strong technical reporting, engineering documentation and English communication skills.
